With pride and gratitude, we welcome you into a virtual space that represents our passion, creativity, and dedication in the world of craft. The ISI Yogyakarta Craft Study Program is present as a forum for the development of education, research, and creation of crafts that are not only grounded in the richness of local traditions, but also responsive to global dynamics, technology, and future sustainability.
As one of the oldest and leading craft study programs in Indonesia, we have a strong commitment to produce creative people who are able to respond to the times through material exploration, mastery of techniques, and deepening of cultural values. We offer 5 areas of specialization-Textile Craft, Woodwork, Metalwork,Leather Craft and Ceramic Craft-which is designed to foster multidisciplinary and innovative characters in students.
Supported by competent lecturers, adequate facilities, and an open academic environment, we encourage students to explore new boundaries in the creation of works, material research, and real contributions to the creative industry and society. Our students are not only required to be skilled, but also critical, adaptive, and socially sensitive.
We believe that craft is not only about handmade objects, but also narratives about identity, sustainability, and human relationships with materials and the environment. Therefore, the ISI Yogyakarta Craft Study Program will continue to play an active role in building a craft ecosystem that is inclusive, innovative, and rooted in the cultural wisdom of the archipelago.
We invite all of you - prospective students, partners, researchers, craft activists, and the wider community - to jointly explore and develop the potential of craft as a dignified cultural and economic force.
